Why would I pay $180 for something the DMV does free?

Time and convenience. The DMV is free if your time is free. If you have a job, a family, a 20-day deadline, or a vehicle that doesn't fit DMV parking (RV, fleet truck), our $180 mobile fee buys back roughly half a day. We come to your home, office, or storage facility, the verification takes 20-30 minutes on-site, and we hand you the REG 31 ready to take to the DMV.

Can the DMV do VIN verification at the same appointment as my registration?

Yes — they prefer it that way. The downside: any complication during the verification (unclear VIN, body-type-model ambiguity, missing documentation) means starting over at a new appointment 2-4 weeks later. Doing the VIN verification ahead of time with us isolates that risk; you arrive at the DMV with the REG 31 already complete.

Is the DMV verification any more legitimate than a private one?
